Mobile Home Fire

Templeton Fire Department crews responded to a mobile home fire at Meadow Brook Mobile Home Park located off Bennett Way, Templeton on Wednesday afternoon, August 12, 2015, at 3:07 p.m.

Atascadero and CAL-Fire Engine #30 Fire Crews assisted Templeton Fire Crews who were quick to extinguish and contain the fire to the bathroom. Upon further investigation the fire appeared to begin to the side of the front porch and damage was also found underneath the home. Fortunately, the mobile home was not occupied or furnished.

Templeton Interim Fire Chief Bill White noted that fortunately Commanding Officer Tony Broom was on duty yesterday. The outcome could have been worse if the response had been delayed. Broom’s position is funded by a SAFER Grant that is due to expire in September 2016. The Department is currently researching alternatives for Fire Department Operations/Staffing.

It is still not clear what caused the fire, thus the cause of the fire is “undetermined”.
