Oath of Office for New Firefighter and Two Promotions

Oath of Office for New Firefighter and Two Promotions

On February 17th, the Templeton Community Service District Fire Department swore in one new Firefighter Trainee to the position of Firefighter and promoted two Firefighters to the position of Fire Engineer.

Firefighter Daniel Burgess was sworn in by Interim Fire Chief Keith Aggson as Templeton’s newest Firefighter. Daniel joined the TEM FD in September 2014 as a Firefighter/EMT. Daniel has recently graduated the Monterey Peninsula College Fire Academy. As part of this ceremony, Daniel repeated the oath of office and was pinned with his Firefighter badge by his Mother Karen.

Firefighter Andrew Neely and Phillip Goldbloom were promoted to the position of Fire Engineer and were also sworn in by Interim Fire Chief Keith Aggson. Both firefighters participated in a grueling five month training process that included both hands on and hydraulic calculation training. The training concluded in a three part testing process which included: fire pumping and field calculations, emergency vehicle operations driving and a 100 question written exam.

Engineer Neely is a five year journeyman of the organization. He is a graduate of the Allan Hancock Fire Academy and is a State certified EMT. Most recently Andrew was the Fire Association President and led several successful funding events which supported Alisha Ann Rusch Burn Foundation. We are very thankful to have Andrew on are Department.

Engineer Goldbloom is a twelve year veteran of the Fire Service. He joined the Templeton Fire Department in January of 2014 and quickly rose through the ranks from Firefighter to Driver Operator to Fire Engineer. Phillip is a graduate of the Allan Hancock Fire Academy and is a State certified EMT. Phillips was pinned by his girlfriend Kim as their daughter Clarae stood by.

“I believe these three firefighters will serve the community with well and that Templeton is extremely lucky to have the firefighters of this quality and integrity on the Templeton Fire Department.” Interim Fire Chief Keith Aggson.
