Interim Fire Chief Steve Negro

19 May Posted by in Announcements | Comments

Unfortunately, Steve Negro has submitted his resignation as Templeton Community Services District’s Interim Fire Chief.

In recent weeks it became clear that number of unforeseen changes in Chief Negro’s personal and family life have made it difficult for him to provide as much time and energy, without a lot of distractions, to the Templeton Fire Department as he believes it deserves.

Additionally, the limitations placed on retired annuitants working as an Interim meant it was unlikely that he would be able to remain with the District until a permanent Fire Chief could be recruited and come on board.  Chief Negro and I agreed that it is important that we have as much continuity as possible between now and when permanent Fire Chief can begin and that now may be a better time for the Department to transition to another Interim Chief rather than in a few months.

Captain/Training Officer Brandon Wall has been appointed as Acting Fire Chief beginning immediately until such time as the District can bring on another Interim Fire Chief.

I would like to remind the staff and members of the Templeton Fire Department that a Sustainability Plan had been developed by the Department and the District is committed to seeing its implantation.

Finally, I would like to thank Chief Negro for his contributions to the Templeton Fire Department during his tenure as Interim Fire Chief.  His contributions have the potential of being long-lasting as we work to improve the sustainability of the Department.

Thank you for your continued cooperation and outstanding service to our Community.

Jeff Briltz
General Manager
